"Becoming Confident" - An Announcement from Katelyn Andrist

An announcement from Katelyn Andrist. I hope you are as excited as I am about  it.

I am beyond grateful and excited to announce I have written and published a Children’s Book, “Becoming Confident!" Becoming Confident tells the story of a young dancer named Lula as she takes on the journey towards discovering the beauty of accepting who you are and becoming confident in who you are meant to be! This book brings awareness on mental health, body positivity, anxiety, and difficult conversations about our insecurities! I have created this book to advocate, educate, and create a more confident future for an individual’s self-esteem!!

This has been one of my biggest dreams and goals this year!!! This book has been in the making since November!!! I couldn’t have done it alone! I had an amazing team who stood behind me and helped my visions come to life!! Ava is one of co-authors and Sarah is the illustrator!! Thank you so much to the both of you for all your help, hard work, and endless nights together!!

A big shout out to Mr.Rollin who brought my book to life!! He was just so sweet and such an amazing supporter!! The Kansas State University Printing was absolutely fabulous!!! KSU has supported me this whole year through my journey to Miss Kansas! I am so grateful!

All proceeds 100% go towards the book and shipping!!I am so excited to share my heart with Kansas!! ðŸ’– When you buy one book the KSU printing will donate a book to our local churches, business, dance studios, schools, and more!!!!

Proclamation For Manhattan - An Announcement from Katelyn Andrist

An announcement from Katelyn Andrist. I hope you are as excited as I am about  it.

Since November I have been working hard and pushing myself with passing a proclamation for the city of Manhattan, Kansas! I wanted to create a difference and truly live out my mission statement on my proclamation!! 5 months later, 7 different cities, and over 600 vision boards later
my dream became a reality!! Don’t worry I won’t stop here 😉

I am so grateful to announce my proclamation  “Envisioning Your Future Day” April 5th every year in Manhattan, Kansas! Every year on this day we will celebrate the visions, hopes, and dreams that give us our futures!! We never know what our future has in store for us and where we might go!! But I do know when one is confident and loves themselves genuinely they will go far!

I am confident every single one of you has a bright future!! Stay tuned for a special event on April 5th!!

Thank you so much to the City Hall of Manhattan, City Commissions, and Mayor Linda Morse for this opportunity!!

May we continue to break down society and create an empowering, healing, growing, and unique community!! This project is dedicated to a beautiful friend of my mothers, Robyn Waller who passed away a few short months ago. Her beautiful soul and bright smile will forever be missed. On this day may we remember Robyn and how she was a leader who brought awareness, support, and love to everyone who encouraged her. Her vision board, words, and her beautiful souls will live on forever ❤️

Also, a special shout-out to my best friend Alyssa for all her help 🙂

I want to thank Katelyn for allowing me to share this announcement.

Making Hoops For Miracles

I'm sure you remember Ashley Marsh from her visit with Section 36. Well, she is now involved in a fantastic event. She is running a basketball camp for charity! Check it out.

Here's the press release from the event:

Miss New Hampshire hopeful to hold basketball clinic fundraiser Feb. 3

Laconia native Ashley Marsh is running for the title of Miss New Hampshire 2019 this April in Derry. She currently holds the title of Miss Isles of Shoals, and has been competing in the Miss New Hampshire scholarship program for the past three years, earning over $16,000 towards her higher education. She’s currently a graduate student at Springfield College in Massachusetts, studying athletic counseling with a goal of becoming an athletic director for academic success for a Division I institution.

To be eligible to compete for the title of Miss New Hampshire, Marsh and the other 28 candidates must raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. All money raised will go directly to the nearest network hospital, Boston Children’s. Marsh has visited Boston Children’s for the past two years for their Princess and Prince event, where she helps with arts and crafts, paint nails for that patients, and plays games with them.

Marsh is hosting a basketball clinic with all funds raised going to her Children’s Miracle Network hospital account. The clinic, Making Hoops for Miracles, will be held Sunday, Feb. 3, with two different sessions. Session 1 is for ages seven to 10, and runs 10 a.m.-noon. Session 2 is for ages 11-14, running 12:30-2:30 p.m. The clinic will be held at Gilford Hills Tennis and Fitness Club, and Brewster Academy’s assistant coach David Hersey, along with players from his team, will volunteer at the clinic.

The cost of the clinic is $25, and limited spots are available. To sign up, email ashleymarsh1011@gmail.com with the child’s name and age.

That's all the details. Doesn't it sound like a lot of fun? You should absolutely contact Ashley as soon as possible to reserve your spot. It's sure to be a great time, supporting a great cause!
